While we enjoyed the desert, it's nice to see some greenery again driving South on dirt tracks through beautiful forests and pastures. The whole area around the town is just really nice, pristine countryside where they still use animals to plough the fields and the pace of life is super chilled out. Even if you're not a surfer you couldn't help but like the place.
If you are a surfer of course, you're gonna like the place a whole lot more. There's about five or six good LH point breaks all within about half an hours drive of each other a couple of them being in the excellent range (but I'd imagine all are pretty good on their day).
Probably had some of the best waves of my life here as for a couple of days it was absolutely pumping. Water's pretty cold at 12C, but nothing a good wetsuit, gloves and boots can't fix. Unfortunately for Mai the Chilean waves have not always proved to be beginner friendly but she still surfed one of the points on a smaller day and got a few good waves. She also certainly made one very average English surfer very happy by getting a few snaps and vids!

What a beautiful place.. Mai needs to start charging for her time hahah.. Looking good on the board Tim!
