Anyway, a couple of weeks ago now we were in San Pedro de Atacama, a little town close to the border of Bolivia and Argentina. It's a really nice little town with some amazing scenery and lots of things to do surrounding it. Was very busy due to the fact that it was a public holiday but was nice to see the Chileans partying and having a good time.
Despite our recent car troubles, it was nice to have wheels to explore the surrounding area and saved us a bit of money on tours. We went to a saline lake nearby where you can swim and float in a way very similar to the dead sea because of the high concentration of salt in the water. Alas, the photos just can't describe just how cold the water was!
As well as visiting a salt plain nearby we also went sandboarding in "Death Valley", which turned out to be a lot of fun. Had sand in my ears for a week after one particular stack, good fun for using the gopro though, still working on downsizing vids so I can post them. Will update and post a couple of clips once I've worked it out.
Great pics! Glad you survived the boarding without lossing skin! Can't wait to see the videos!
