Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is probably tourist attraction No. 1 in South America. While DEFINITELY very touristy, it didn't disappoint.

Originally we were going to walk the 1&1/2hrs up the Inka steps from Agua Caliente (the closest small town in the valley). However, as I had a slight case of Machu Poopoo we decided to take the bus!!

I'm not sure what's more impressive, the landscape surrounding Machu Picchu or the feat of the ancient Inkas building this spectacle in the incredible situation in which it's located.

It's built on a high mountain surrounded by super steep mountains, cliffs and overlooking incredibly deep valleys.

We spent most of the day there and climbed half way up Machu Picchu mountain. Was a nice day at the most visited spot on the "gringo trail".
